We are dedicated to engaging with the public at large by running community events to involve and inspire interest in physics!
Current events and opportunities:
- A panel of professors will be brought downtown to answer all your wildest and goofiest questions about physics for an evening. Ever wanted to know if you get better gas mileage on Earth or the Moon? Now’s your chance to ask!
- SCOOP is hosting a book club in partnership with the Santa Cruz Public Library, where we meet biweekly to read through a popular science book. Previous books: Michael Dine’s This Way to the Universe.
During the first week of classes, we hosted SCOOP day and handed out scoops of ice cream!
